H5N1 bird flu has arrived in Australia. This highly contagious, pathogenic virus affects wild, domestic, poultry bird populations & other animals. Reporting suspected cases immediately is mandatory nationwide.
AVOID CONTACT
with dead or sick birds.
keep pets away & dogs on leads.
RECORD
the time, date, location & photo/video (10 sec clips) if safe to do so.
REPORT by phone or online
– groups of five sick or dead wild birds.
– any one sick or dead pelican, penguin, black swan, bird of prey (e.g: hawks, owls, eagles), marine mammals (e.g: seals, sea lions, dolphins).
